We've Turned towards the East

Columbia River east of the Cascade mtn range.

Another view across the Columbia.

"Grandfather Cuts Loose the Ponies" by sculptor David Govedare.
Can be viewed from I90 heading east as you cross the Columbia River.

I90 Bridge as it crosses the Columbia looking down river.

One of those pesky "happy campers".

Well, we have left the cold, and rainy west coast of Washington state behind and headed east into the desert region of Washington state. We anchored in Moses Lake for a week of rest and relaxation. There hasn't been a lot of sight seeing to do here, although we did take a day and made a loop south and back to the west viewing many farms producing potatoes, timothy hay, alphalfa, peas, corn, apples, cherries (yum!!) , grapes and more. This area is huge in agriculture and since its in the "desert" they irrigate constantly. As you can see from the pictures, we met up with the Columbia River again. This time in quite a different setting. The weather here has been super, with little rain and lots of sunshine. We will be heading further east tomorrow with a week long stay planned in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. We have hopes of getting up into Canada to Banff from there but so far have not been able to obtain a place to stay. We will continue to work on that.
