Well, Charlotte got her bed back on Tuesday so we packed up and headed northwest to Las Vegas on Wednesday. We are anchored at the Sam's Town Hotel and Gambling Hall RV Resort on the east side of Vegas. Charlotte and I took a shuttle into the Strip the afternoon of our arrival. Starting at Harrah's where we were dropped off, we walked 2.5 miles north towards Freemont St and the old downtown area. We got to the Stratosphere Casino and decided we weren't sure what direction to take nor how much farther we had to go and we were leg weary to boot so we caught a bus the rest of the way. Got to Freemont St and stayed just long enough to find our shuttle pick up location so we could get back to the RV park. The shuttle bus was sitting there so we hopped on and headed back. That's to become the extent of our Vegas Strip experience. Had a down day Thursday and on Friday took a drive out to Hoover Dam. Although interesting and I suppose an architectural marvel we both have concluded there is no man made spectacle that can come close to matching those of Mother Nature. We found a little brewpub in Boulder City on the way back from the dam and it turned out to be the highlight of my day. Were right next to Sam's Town Casino so we have made a few appearances there. We've played a few slots and some video poker and thus far are a little to the good which is a pleasant surprise. Today is another down day as we can't seem to get too excited about doing anything here. I am playing golf tomorrow and Charlotte is getting her hair done then we'll head on into California on Monday. We're both excited about getting there and seeing the scenery and of course sampling the local waters.
