Golden Gate and Beyond

Great view or the Golden Gate Bridge

Highway 1 North

Peering into the Pacific

More peering!!

The Pacific coastline.

Where's the beach????

Those pesky happy campers, again!!!!

How'd you like that view from your bedroom window over there?

On out Highway 1

There's the beach. Stinson Beach

I resemble that remark...........
We relaxed on Saturday after our big city adventure before venturing out in the car on Sunday for a trip around the north side of the bay. We took Rt. 37 over to Rt 101 and went south to the Golden Gate Bridge. There is a park at the north side which offers great views. We wondered back thru Sausalito which is described by Wikipedia as a "wealthy and artistic enclave" on the bay just north of the bridge. They were having a farmer's market so we stopped and made our contribution to the local economy picking up some fresh organically grown strawberries and raspberries. Oh, and a giant chocolate chip cookie, too. We then made our way to Highway 1 that goes up the coast. They don't recommend vehicles over 30ft long and once you drive a little of it you understand why. There are some turns where you see the back of your car coming down the hill beside you, if you know what I mean. The views it gives you access to though..... nice!! We stopped at a scenic overlook and took some photos before finding a nice little outside cafe at Stinson Beach for some lunch. Worked our way back toward camp and opted to take a detour for a tour of the Jelly Belly factory in Fairfield, CA. Neat little side trip. Another enjoyable day. We are experiencing our first rain in about a month today so we're just hanging out and preparing to move on tomorrow north on Highway 101 and into the Redwoods.
