Arrived in Vacaville, CA Tuesday, June 8 at the Vineyard RV Park for a three night lay over. The weather was beautiful. We escaped the desert heat for a much appreciated low humidity cooler temperature environment. Wednesday we tripped into the outskirts of San Francisco to view the Golden Gate and then traversed Highway 1 north. The coast line up Highway 1 was fogging in so we were unable to get many good views of the coastline. We then headed back east to Napa for a nice lunch and cold beer for Charlotte and I at Stone Brewery. It was quite chilly so Phil and Casey opted for coffee instead. Believe it or not, for comfort we were forced to wear jackets. Wreck on I 80 rerouted us back to the campground thru some very twisty but scenic roadways. Pleasant evening was spent grilling some steaks and enjoying a little more beer and some wine.
Thursday found Charlotte and I chilling at the campground while Phil and Casey ventured out to the Jelly Belly Factory for a tour and ultimate purchase of those delicious and sugary morsels called jelly beans.
Departed Friday morning for Klamath, CA up Highway 101.
The Golden Gate
Standing tall and currently under repair to make it
more earthquake resistant.
Off in the distance, Alcatraz.
Also at the bridge entrance, a lone sailor with his
duffel ready for service to his country.
The Pacific!!
