Beignets and Coffee
Oh So Good!!!
Mine, mine, mine!!!
Beautiful Architecture
French Quarter at its finest
Mighty Mississippi !
Day two of our journey found us in the eclectic city of New Orleans. The main goal for this stop was beignets and coffee at Cafe Du Monde and charbroiled oysters at Drago's. Anything else would be gravy. As you can see we checked the first goal off. We we're expecting 2-4 inches of rain on our arrival so before the deluge hit we set off for the French Quarter and the beignets. We parked in a "premium" public parking area about 10 blocks from the cafe and began our stroll thru the French Quarter. Did anyone think to make note of the parking lot we were in or the interconnecting streets? NO!!! So needless to say we had two Buckeyes and two Hillbillies in the middle of who knows where with no idea how to get back to our car. Every street corner and every shop looked the same. We wondered for an hour and as luck would have it finally stumbled on to our car. Whew!!! Lesson learned!!!!
No big plans for tomorrow beyond the charbroiled oysters. But who knows what adventure lies ahead.
